On July 18, the World Club of Odesites hosted the premiere of a new project, “The Territory of Odesa Song” initiated by Serhii Menshahin. And perhaps the best measure of the evening’s success was the packed hall, warm atmosphere, and sincere emotions of the audience.
The World Club of Odesites has always brought together people united by their love for Odesa, its history, culture, and music. That is why the launch of this new club project became a truly special event for everyone who appreciates Odesa’s musical heritage.
That evening, Serhii Menshahin and Valerii Chernіs gave the guests not simply a concert, but a sincere musical conversation about the city, summer, love, and memory. Familiar and almost forgotten Odesa songs were performed alongside romances, original compositions, courtyard folk songs, as well as songs based on poems by Volodymyr Mikheishyn, with music composed by Serhii Menshahin. These works particularly touched the audience, as they brought poetry, music, and heartfelt performance together in remarkable harmony.
The concert was truly enriched by performances from our friends — Karina Shrahina-Kats, Viktor Kotlovskyi, Violetta Lashkul, and Serhii Nikitchenko. A special surprise of the evening was Mariia Menshахina, whom Serhii Menshahin affectionately introduced as “the cherry on top.”
Every performance was greeted with loud applause, while the gratitude and admiration filling the hall became the best confirmation that the new project had made a truly successful debut.
We sincerely thank all the artists who became part of the launch of this new project, as well as all the guests who shared this evening with us. We are delighted that “The Territory of Odesa Song” began its journey with a sold-out performance — which means that new meetings, new songs, and new stories about a city that is impossible not to love are still ahead.
