Green Lamp
The Green Lamp literary studio was founded in 2009 by Yevhen Mykhailovych Golubovsky and Yevhen Demenok. A hundred years ago, Odesa already had a studio with the same name. Its members included Eduard Bagritsky, Yury Olesha, Valentin Kataev, Zinaida Shishova, Ilf and Petrov, Alexei Tolstoy, and Maximilian Voloshin.
For many years, Yevhen Mykhailovych Golubovsky was the soul of the studio. He was the one who established the tradition of burime novels and the “To the Sound of Air-Raid Sirens” series, in which studio members explore and experience the reality of war through literary expression.
The participants’ stories and poems have been published in the “Deribasovskaya, Rishelievskaya” almanac, the Vechernyaya Odesa newspaper, and other publications. With the support of Yevhen Demenok, a book by one of the studio’s members was published every year.
Today, the studio’s meetings are led by Hanna Mikhalievska, an almanac author and laureate of the international short-story competition “Odesssiada”.
