City Day Celebration
On September 2, the Worldwide Club of Odesites will host a festive concert by the “Territory of Odesa Song” project, celebrating Odesa’s 232nd birthday and its centuries-old history. Guests will enjoy Odesa songs, the WCO “Open Microphone,” a charitable contribution to the Club’s statutory goals, and a traditional contest for the most Odesa-style appetizer.

Dear relatives, relatives of Mama, of Odesa-Mama! Family, cousins, famous and unknown, overseas and foreign, those who play, sing and speak all the languages of Odesa!
The concert of the “Territory of the Odesa Song” project, filled with pride, admiration and love for our city, will take place at the Worldwide Club of Odesites on September 2. It begins at 5:00 PM. 7 Marazliivska Street. A gift to Mama and all her ancestors – a charitable contribution to the Club’s statutory purposes.
Let us celebrate together our beloved Mama’s 232nd birthday, congratulate her dear grandmother – the settlement of Kochubeiv with its 611th anniversary, congratulate her famous great-grandmother – the Genestra anchorage with its 715th anniversary, and congratulate her great-great-grandmother – the harbour of Histrians, approximately 2,500 years old (Grandmother forgot the exact date of her birth).
What a genealogy we have, guys! No point arguing blindly. Documents are stubborn things. There is so much to admire! There is so much to be proud of! There is someone to love!
Ukrainian philosopher and poet Hryhorii Skovoroda stated that “love arises from love. When I want to be loved, I am the first to love.”
What should our love for the city consist of in words and deeds, in the opinion of the Club’s members? What can we do, and how can we be useful during the National Liberation War of the citizens of Ukraine for the freedom and independence of our country?! The “WCO Open Microphone” will allow everyone to express their opinion.
As tradition dictates, the buffet will feature exquisite Odesa appetizers, with which the relatives of Odesa-Mama and her ancestors will treat one another. The Club will support them in this delicious competition. A prize awaits the winner who prepares the most Odesa-style appetizer.
